THOMPSON & BOWIE, LLP is proud of its reputation as a trial firm, which provides our attorneys with a unique understanding of the intricacies of a dispute and the best means to resolve it. We are aware of how litigation impacts the lives of the parties involved, and we work diligently to assist those individuals in working together toward achieving a common ground. Given our wide variety of experiences, our attorneys serve as mediators, arbiters, and neutrals in a wide range of litigation, including professional liability, construction, insurance, personal injury, commercial and employment-related claims, among others.
Our attorneys who are regularly available to assist with alternative dispute resolution include:
James M. Bowie, Esq. - an experienced mediator and arbitrator who has served as a neutral in hundreds of cases over the past 10 years. He has experience with cases regarding insurance, personal injury, professional liability, construction, commercial, employment and a variety of other issues. Jim is an active member of the CADRES Arbitration, Mediation and Early Neutral Evaluation Panels, providing services which comply with Maine Rule of Civil Procedure 16B. He has also served as a neutral for a variety of other ADR organizations and several institutional ADR programs, as well as vice-chair and chair of the Maine State Bar Association ADR section.
Roy E. Thompson Jr., Esq. - a litigator with over thirty years of experience trying cases throughout Maine. Roy is a member of the CADRES Mediation and Arbitration Panels, and has received his ADR certification following completion of the forty hours ADR course offered through the University of Southern Maine. Roy’s diverse litigation experience, including construction claims, products liability, professional liability, personal injury and many other areas, serves him well as a mediator and arbitrator, in addition to his familiarity with litigators from Aroostook County to York County, and most counties in between.
Robert C. Hatch, Esq. — an experienced advocate who has received his mediation certification after completing an intensive forty hour alternative dispute resolution course. Rob is engaged in numerous forms of ADR in his own civil litigation practice, and is available to serve as a mediator, arbitrator, or early neutral evaluator in many litigation fields, including personal injury, premises liability, professional liability, commercial disputes, and insurance coverage disputes. Rob accepts mediation assignments whether the ADR is conducted pre-suit, in accordance with Rule 16B, or occurs on the eve of trial. |
