"At this firm, decisions about how to deal with problems are client-oriented as opposed to lawyer-oriented. The culture here generates a responsiveness in terms of professional work and personal rapport."
BIO:
Michael joined Thompson & Bowie, LLP as a trial lawyer in 1984 after extensive experience at the federal, state and county level, including over 100 jury trials and numerous appellate arguments before the Maine Supreme Judicial Court and the First Circuit Court of Appeals. Civil rights defense of police officers and municipal officials was a natural transition into civil practice. Michael’s government liability practice has ranged from the successful defense of the municipal solid waste ordinance in Houlton, Citizens v. Town of Houlton to road reconstruction and taking claims in King v. Town of Monmouth. Michael represents the firm's clients in asbestos and latex glove litigation.

Michael participates in the Defense Research Institute and enjoys golf with his five brothers during Maine's brief season.

Assistant Attorney General, State of Maine, Criminal Division 1979-1982; Assistant District Attorney, Prosecutorial District # 1 (York County, Maine) 1982-1984.
