New associates are selected and hired with the expectation that they have the ability to become a partner of our firm. Associates become active and important members of the firm as soon as their employment begins. Partners assign tasks to them to work on as part of a team on large exposure cases, or they assign entire cases for associates to handle entirely on their own. They are expected to be able to hit the ground running and have direct client contact from the outset. The firm’s hiring partner is always available to them, and regular associate group meetings are scheduled approximately 10 times per year. The firm provides ongoing participation in Continuing Legal Education seminars and workshops, and encourages associates to handle pro bono matters and to become active participants in a variety of community activities.
