About:
Cathy joined Thompson & Bowie in 1989 and became a partner in the firm in 1995. Cathy concentrates her law practice in the areas of admiralty and maritime law, trucking law, civil litigation and the defending employers in workers compensation litigation. Cathy values the strong relationships she has developed with her clients. She encourages proactive measures by which her clients can oftentimes position themselves to avoid lawsuits with the right knowledge and advance planning. Cathy has been an invited speaker at the Maine workers’ compensation seminars and at Maine trial advocacy seminars.
After graduating from law school, Cathy served a tour of duty in the United States Navy JAG Corps. As a Navy Lieutenant in San Francisco, Cathy tried numerous felony cases and was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal for her outstanding trial work and service.
Cathy is a member of the Maine and Massachusetts Bar Associations, the Maritime Law Association, The Propeller Club and the Defense Research Institute. For the past several years, she has practiced in state and federal court in both Maine and Massachusetts. Cathy and her husband Brian enjoy skiing in the winter and boating on Casco Bay in the summer.
