On May 4, 2017, Sarah Yantakosol Gayer presented "Recent Developments in Maritime Product Liability Law relating to Recreational Vessels" at the Maritime Law Association's Recreational Boating Committee Meeting at the New York Yacht Club. Through an examination of the Eleventh Circuit's recent decision in Global Quest, LLC v. Horizon Yachts, Inc. 849 F.3d 1022 (11th Cir. 2017), Sarah discussed issues of fraud, privity of contract, breach of warranty, and the application of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act to limited warranties. She also analyzed recent punitive damage awards in maritime products liability cases involving breach of the duty to warn users of dangerous risks.
