On March 20, 2017, Sarah Yantakosol Gayer was a featured speaker at Batten Down the Hatches: Navigating the Seas of 2017 Hot Maritime Topics in Stamford, Connecticut. This CLE program was co-sponsored by the American Bar Association's TIPS Admiralty and Maritime Law Committee and the Women's International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA) U.S.A.'s New England Chapter. The program explored recent developments in key maritime topics including: limitation of liability for freight forwarders; the Protection and Indemnity Club's experience with Jones Act claims; the current state of punitive damages and the ratio of punitive to compensatory damages; and managing cybersecurity and other risks associated with the use of data sharing technology in the maritime space.
