About:
Sarah practices in the areas of admiralty and maritime law and professional liability. Her admiralty experience includes matters involving vessel arrest, maritime liens, tugboats and pilots, marina claims, Jones Act and unseaworthiness claims, pleasure and personal watercraft liability, Coast Guard investigations, marine construction, subrogation, vessel construction contracts and claims, and marine insurance. Her professional liability practice focuses on legal malpractice defense and disciplinary claims.

Sarah currently serves as Chair to the American Bar Association (ABA) Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) Admiralty and Maritime Law Committee and previously served as a vice-chair to the committee. She was a contributing author for "Recent Developments in Admiralty and Maritime Law", ABA Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Law Journal, Vol. 51, Issue 2 (2016), Vol. 50, Issue 2, Vol. 49, Issue 1 (2013) and Vol. 48, Issue 1 (2012).  She has been a featured speaker at continuing legal education programs for the American Bar Association, the American Conference Institute, the Federal Bar Association, the Maine State Bar Association, the Maritime Law Association of the United States, the Tulane Admiralty Law Institute, and the Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association.

Sarah is a Maine native and graduated from Bowdoin College with a B.A. in Government and Legal Studies and Russian. While attending Bowdoin, she was a Sarah and James Bowdoin Scholar, studied Russian at the Nevsky Institute of Language and Culture in St. Petersburg, Russia, and studied Government and Legal Studies in London, United Kingdom.

Sarah earned her J.D. from the University of Maine School of Law, where she volunteered as a Student Attorney at the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic. She resides in Cape Elizabeth with her husband and children. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys traveling, boating, and exploring the Maine coast.
